Barley Bread with Gourd Soup

Ingredients
- Barley bread, cut into pieces
- Bottle Gourd, peeled and chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste (optional)
- Water
Method
Step 1 — Cook the gourd soup: Place the chopped gourd in a pot and add enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the gourd is soft (about 15–20 minutes). Mash lightly if you prefer a thicker texture. Season with salt and black pepper. Step 2 — Prepare the bread: Cut the barley bread into bite-sized pieces and arrange in a bowl or plate. Step 3 — Serve: Serve the gourd soup in a bowl alongside the barley bread.
