Qailulah — The Midday Nap

Qailulah refers to the Prophetic practice of taking a brief rest or nap around midday — before or after Dhuhr prayer. The Prophet (ﷺ) encouraged this practice, and Ibn al-Qayyim noted it strengthens the body for the night prayer and sharpens the mind for the second half of the day. It is a reset that brings both physical restoration and increased capacity for worship. Even a brief rest without full sleep carries the benefit of this Sunnah.

"Take a nap (Qailulah), for the shayateen do not take naps."

Sunan Ibn Majah, Musnad Ahmad
