Never Eating to Full Satisfaction
The Prophet (ﷺ) was known to never fill his stomach completely. He would stop eating before feeling entirely full, often leaving the table still slightly hungry. Ibn al-Qayyim wrote extensively on how overeating is the root of most illnesses, while restraint in food is the foundation of all medicine. Leaving a third of the stomach empty preserves energy, clarity, and longevity.
"The son of Adam does not fill any vessel worse than his stomach."
