Horse-riding — Rukūb al-Khayl

Horse-riding is one of the most praised physical skills in the Sunnah. It trains balance, core strength, coordination, and courage. The Prophet (ﷺ) kept and rode horses, and caring for a horse was considered an act of continuous charity. ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (RA) urged parents to teach their children horse-riding alongside archery and swimming — a trio of holistic physical development.

"Any action without the remembrance of Allah is a diversion — except for: walking between targets (archery), training one's horse, playing with one's family, and learning to swim."
